Mulled Cider Wine

Ingredients

  • One 750-milliliter bottle Cabernet Sauvignon
  • One 12-ounce bottle hard cider
  • 1 ounce Allspice Simple Syrup, recipe follows
  • Orange slices, for garnish
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 5 allspice berries

Instructions

  1. Pour the wine, cider and Allspice Simple Syrup into a pitcher or punch bowl. Ladle into glasses. Garnish with orange slices.
  2. Combine the sugar, allspice and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to steep for about 5 minutes. Strain and let cool to room temperature before using.
