Sangria Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 1 (750 milliliter) bottle dry red wine
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 cup hulled and sliced strawberries
  • 1/2 apple, diced
  • 1 plum, diced
  • 1/2 grapefruit, juiced
  • 1/2 orange, zested and juiced
  • 1/2 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 3/4 cup white sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine wine, water, raspberries, strawberries, apple, plum, grapefruit juice, orange zest and juice, and lemon zest and juice in a saucepan over medium heat; cook at just below a simmer for 30 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat and cool to room temperature.
  2. Pour wine mixture into a blender and puree; strain through a fine-mesh sieve. Stir sugar into wine mixture and refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour.
  3. Transfer wine mixture to an ice cream maker and follow manufacturer's instructions for sorbet.
