Jolly Greens

Ingredients

  • 4 ham hocks
  • 2 yellow onions
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cups water
  • 16 ounces chicken broth
  • 12 bunches collard greens

Instructions

  1. Cook ham hocks, whole onions, whole garlic, bay leaf, water and broth in a large saucepan for 1 1/2 hours or until meat falls off bone. Add clean, roughly cut collard greens with stems removed. Cook uncovered for another 1 1/2 hours turning greens occasionally. Serve as side vegetable.
