- 3 qt cranberry juice cocktail
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 (3 1/2-inch) cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole star anise
- 1 (3-inch) piece gingerroot, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups amber or dark rum
