Cheddar Apple Skewers
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
- 1 tablespoon regular or low-carb maple syrup
- 4 ounces sharp Cheddar
- 1/2 large apple, like Gala, Macoun, or MacIntosh

Instructions
- Special equipment: 8 wooden skewers
- Whisk the maple syrup and mustard in a small bowl.
- Cut the Cheddar into 8 cubes about 3/4-inch square. Core the apple but leave the peel, cut into 8 even pieces. Thread a piece of apple and a cheese cube onto each skewer.
- Serve the cheese skewers with the mustard sauce for dipping.
